State of Mexico.- On Wednesday, November 20, a multiple vehicle collision took place on the Mexico-Querétaro Highway, specifically at kilometer 059+000 in Huehuetoca, State of Mexico. The incident involved a trailer that, unable to stop in time, collided with several other vehicles. Consequently, the trailer ended up blocking the road, occupying all three lanes of traffic in the north-south direction, which led to a partial closure of the highway.
Causes of the accident and traffic conditions
The incident transpired while the trailer was en route to Mexico City. The driver failed to brake adequately before reaching the Jorobas intersection, resulting in a crash against a bank, followed by a collision with five cars and a pickup truck. Given the wet road conditions due to the rain earlier in the day, it is suspected that these factors may have contributed to the accident; however, authorities are set to conduct an investigation to determine the exact cause.

Injuries and Safety Recommendations

Paramedics arrived at the location to assist those injured, who sustained minor injuries. While no severe injuries were reported, the paramedics advised that some individuals should be evaluated at the hospital to prevent potential complications.

Trailer Spills Fuel in Another Accident
In a related incident on the same highway, a tanker trailer released fuel at kilometer 95.5, close to Soyaniquilpan de Juárez. This incident resulted in a total closure of all lanes in that vicinity, leading to considerable traffic delays.
